When I was a little girl, I used to take candy from our Halloween or Christmas stash and keep it in my bedroom. I had a twin bed with three drawers under the mattress, and the headboard had three cubbies. Well, under the cubbies, it was open. And I would keep candy down in the empty spot. I would wait until it was quiet and everyone had gone to sleep, and I would eat the candy in the middle of the night. When I finished eating the candy, I would leave my trash in the same area where I would hide the candy. A few months would pass, and it would be bedroom deep clean time. My mom would come in my room to help clean, and oh boy.. when we got to cleaning out my dresser drawers and those cubbies, we would get down to that open area, and there would be a foot or two of candy wrappers. So, to say that I love candy is an understatement. This vending machine adventure is one that I look forward to. To bring happiness to others, whether by providing snacks, drinks, or candy. I love all kinds of candy... Snickers, Reece's Cups, Caramel Creme, Kit-Kat, Gummy Lifesavers, York Peppermint Patty and more.

When I joined the Army, I knew my love of candy would be hard to deal with, having no access to it at Basic Training. We were sitting at the CIF building at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. There was a mountain in the distance with white caps. It was the most beautiful view and the first time I had a MRE (Meal Ready to Eat). It was a taco one; when I opened that bag and saw a pack of Reece's Pieces, my heart skipped a beat.. possibly several. My thoughts went from I can have this, can I have this, will I get into trouble... and I could hear the Drill Sergeant in the background telling us not to eat the candy and to eat our meals. I had already opened the bag. I took that bad boy and dumped the entire bag into my mouth. Oh my gosh. It was one of the best moments, and I will never forget it.
